We wrote last week that online education is a growing market, and non-profits like edX are offering free online courses from established universities and colleges so you can increase your knowledge and skills. ALISON is another online education resource, but instead of offering university-style courses, ALISON’s free online courses are designed to improve your workplace skills and beef up your resume.
Some of ALISON’s course subjects include Financial and Economic Literacy, Business and Enterprise Skills, Digital Literacy and IT Skills, Personal Development and Soft Skills and various Languages. There are over 600 courses available to choose from, so there should be no trouble finding courses to help you improve and continue to learn.
The courses are all free and you can complete them at your own pace. Each course has assessments at various intervals that require a score of 80% or more to pass, but you can re-take them at any time. Once you pass each assessment, you get a certificate to prove that you completed your course of choice.
Over 14% of ALISON graduated reported that their ALISON course helped them get a promotion, a new job or a college placement. If you want to learn more, you can visit their website here. Take a look at the ALISON course list to see if there’s one that’s just right for you!
